About FAUST

“I know everything — and yet I know nothing.”

Faust possesses all the knowledge in the world, yet remains unable to fill the vast emptiness within. We spend our youth learning what life is supposed to be, only to find ourselves lost in a reality that rarely makes sense — a world where adults often behave like children, and certainty dissolves into confusion.

Driven by a desperate search for meaning, Faust gives in to temptation and follows the Devil on a journey through everything life has to offer. In exchange for her soul, she experiences the full spectrum of human existence — desire, love, power, life and death.

But how do you fill the void?

In this bold reinterpretation of the classic myth, Theater arsenaal, DE MAAN and deCompagnie transform Faust into a visually striking and musically epic quest for meaning. The production brings together world-class classical musicians, the vibrant visual language of object theatre, and a distinctive blend of humour and drama — at once poetic, raw and unapologetically direct.

For audiences aged 14 and above — and perhaps even more for those who have already begun their own search.

Because, ultimately, we are all searching for meaning.
